PBS is airing a new documentary Feb 28 about the rise and fall of the great Penn Station. You can see a preview at www.pbs.org/americanexperience. Gothamist also posted a moving, short video at this link: https://vimeo.com/86349549
But here is a six-minute video that is just as good, a slice of the older documentary that Ric Burns did (with Tribecan James Sanders). The commentary you will hear about the creation of a public good is especially important and worth noting as it comes up (especially by Paul Goldberger, the architecture critic). You also see and hear a bit of Ada Louise Huxtable, the great architecture critic. Watch it and try not to get ill or weepy. Maybe get mad instead.
